This type of shooting is more regulated than that of dove and pigeon and the quotas depend on the variety of duck to be hunted (although the average bag is 25 ducks per hunter). Furthermore, the climatic conditions, such as the rains during the months prior to the season, mean that the quantity of game available can vary.
The best moment to hunt ducks is at the first light of day. The hunters should be in position before dawn, to have the best visibility possible, even if not everyone is ready at that hour. The shoot normally end around the middle of the morning, or when the permitted quota is reached.
Recommended: 12-bore shotgun.
Season: May to 15 September
